Rather than going to an "online college", do the online programs at a traditional college. For example, the University of Maryland has online programs which are heavily used by those in the US. military. No one is going to question that degree like they would one from an online college.
You have to look for colleges that a) are regionally accredited and b) offer the major that you are interested in.
Two of the most respectable "online" colleges are:
* Western Governors University http://www.wgu.edu
They offer excellent programs and are well-known but their courses and method of ranking credit hours are different than other colleges so if you start here, your courses may or may not transfer well. They will accept transfer credit from other colleges. I would recommend going here if you plan on completing one of their degree programs completely.
* American Public University System http://www.apus.edu
They have two ‘branches’: AMU and APU. Each college offers similar majors but one is geared more towards military and the other to civilian. Their classes are more similar in structure and credit hours to local colleges. They accept transfer credit from other colleges and you should have no problems transferring your credit to another college if you decide to transfer out. They are also well-regarded among the military, government and employers. (I attend this college myself and so far have only had positive experiences.)
There are many other online colleges out there. I would need to know what you plan on majoring in in order to help you further.
As long as the college (online or campus based) is regionally accredited, any degree you earn should be accepted by any potential employers or other academic institutions.
My best recommendation would be to contact a number of colleges to find the best fit for you and your needs (tuition, schedule, career opportunities, etc.). Too often people enroll in the first school they find rather than taking the time to find the best school for them. Taking that time now could save you a lot of time, money and frustration if you choose the wrong school.
This site has some good info on regionally accredited online degrees and some colleges that offer them to help expand your search:

I think you can enter your info on there for any colleges you are interested in and they will send you more info for free. Good Luck!
You can easily compare info about these schools in this site – schools.iblogger.org
Hi, I work at American Public University (http://www.apus.edu) and wanted to share with you a non-profit site that provides information on accredited online universities. The site is http://www.collegechoicesforadults.org. Best wishes with your search!
