wanna study accounting (MBA)?

I wanna get MBA for accounting. I do A/P and A/R in my company now. But i was majoring in journalism in college. Do i have to study basic accounting first to apply for MBA?
I don't have money to go to college right now, so i went to this university's website. I got all the required courses and the textbooks from online. I wanna study myself. is it possible??
Also, if you have MBA for accounting, I want to know what you do now. Most people don't work for accounting firm after graduation.

You will pick up basic accounting in your first year in b-school – so no need to have it before you get there.
You cannot study by yourself and get an MBA. You have to enroll in an accredited program – and so-called online MBAs are just a crock (I'm biased, I went to a top-ranked MBA program with flesh-and-blood professors).
If you enjoy accounting, there is no reason why you won't be an accountant after getting your MBA. You will, though, have to study further for your CPA.

Depends where you live. I think for MBA you can go in with any degree, dont quote me on that.
MBA doesn't necessarily = accounting.
You can specialize in accounting, but generally, you're working toward finance if you're in an MBA program. It would be faster to work toward your CPA.
Unfortunately, you probably wasted your money buying the books and not getting the classes to go with. You need a university to give you credits for completing the class work. Without it, you won't get a degree. For a CPA, you need bachelors and 5 years of education. You also need to pass exam.
sadly you must get thru basic accounting before anything else. I have an MBA and am a VP of operations. You most certainly can do on line courses. The credits are the same. Good Luck
you have to go college or university and take some prerequisite, actually if you want to be accounter the best for you is getting CPA certificate and if you look at the CPA website they will give you all necessary course you have to pass
