Do you need to be legally recognized as a business in order to sell used clothing on an online website?

My sister and I want to sell our old clothing on a free website online. (We’ll take care of the marketing around our college campuses.) Are there legal issues we should be aware of? Do we need a business license or some kind of selling certificate? Do we have to pay/charge tax? We have no plans to have our business name trademarked yet.
Personal experience would be awesome.

As long as you are doing for yourself, like selling your own stufff, then its legal but if you want to do it as a source of income, then you need to register it as a business.
