I don’t really understand how the BYU independent study for high schoolers work…(http://ce.byu.edu/is/site/courses/highschool.cfm)

I am interested in taking High School English 3 (http://ce.byu.edu/is/site/courses/description.cfm?subject=Language+Arts–English&course=ENGL45Tenth%252DGrade%2520English%25201), and one of the World History’s. Also, (since I’m having Chem 1, and Hon. Algebra 3 next trimester) Chem 2 (or "B) and Algebra 4.

What does it mean by "half-credit"?

It might sound stupid, but does that mean you only get half a credit? It wouldn’t count as a full trimester/semester on your transcript? Or does it depend on the school?

I know my school accepts BYU’s online courses, but they didn’t say how much credits I would get…

Also, is this program self-paced? Like, you go at your own pace? You can take the class as fast as you want, or as slow as you want? Is it like that? Or is there a set time schedule?

Are you able to enroll at any time? And when would I start enrolling for the summer???

I’m currently homeschooled, enrolled in BYU Independent Study and I think I may have to re-enroll because I did not finish my expected 3 classes in the set amount of time. So.. Can anyone enlighten me on any new online homeschooling programs please? I would prefer more of an independent study type program, like, being able to work on my own at any time.

I want an art credit for high school that I can take online. I saw something on byu’s website, but that’s only for half of a credit, and also a little on the expensive side, especially if I would have to take two to add up to a full credit. Do you have any other websites I could use to get a full art credit? Any info is welcome! Thanks

Hey does anyone know if I can re enroll in high school if my counselor withdrawn me last month. He withdrawn me because I needed one more English credit that I was suppose to take through BYU Independent study which is online school. But I only registered for it like Friday and realize that I won’t be able to complete it by the end of this 2009 year in time to get my 2009 diploma. My senior year I was in running start so I was in college full-time. And now I want to just take a class in that college still though running start I know I’ll be able to since I still need that English credit I just really want to know if I can be re enrolled some how back in to high school? Is that possible? Oh and by the way I live in Washington if that makes a difference. Hope someone can help thanks!

I have 3 years of cheer experience and I am a sophmore in high school. My dream and my goal is to be a cheerleader for BYU ( provo Utah)

I do online school so I cant do school cheer anymore and Im not home enough for a competetive squad…

I know I need to take tumbling and stunting classes but I want ideas on how to keep in shape and really be ready when the time comes!

I want tips , excersizes and anything else you can think of to help me be ready! best answer gets 10 points!!!

I’m in a online high school program, and my grades are very good 3.9 last time I checked. Anyways i was wondering if i would be able to get into a decent college. Some people have told me if you do online high school you cant get into college except community college’s. I am doing online high school cause i wasn’t learning enough from normal high school. I am doing Penn Foster. I’ve always wanted to get into BYU Utah. My plans are to graduate earlier and do Jr. College for a year, I have heard that would help.

Hello all. I’ve heard a song on the BYU station and it’s called Tempest by Heather McQuiston. Apparently it’s on a cd of hers called sojourn. All of this info is from the BYU play list site, where they tell you about the song being currently played. I’ve heard this song multiple times, and I LOVED it. But my problem is, she doesn’t seem to exist outside of BYU’s playlist site. I’ve looked at deseret book, seagull book, and everywhere online. Does anyone know how I may find means of getting this song? Or has anyone heard of her nad know where I might get the song or CD?

Im planning on applying to UCLA but i am wondering if i apply as a freshman or not. I graduated in may of 2009 and since then have taken 3 online classes from BYU, so by the time i apply i wont have any of those credits finished and didnt take any college classes while in highschool, also i live in idaho currently but would move to CA to go to school there, so wwhat would i apply as? thanks
