i’m taking elementary french 1 and i really can’t get it. i was wondering if n e one out there can help me. i guess its not clickin because it’s an online course and i probably should’ve been in a classroom not to mention i already took like 4 yrs of spanish (couldn’t get into spanish class cause they were all closed). but if n e could help i would really appreciate….i could also help if you needed help in another subject. i’m really good in the science areas (biology)

I want a place that will let me take the drivers ed class online and then also do the drivers test in the car with that same company, or school i mean. Just somewhere where both requirements to get your permit can be completed. Oh, and I like in california. Thankss!

I’m moving from NY to FL at the end of august. I’ve taken 8 online classes at two different schools and loved it. I’ve done sitting in class at community college, I’ve done moving away from home and living at college; neither I liked. Online classes are a great option for me since it’s at my pace and since it frees up a lot of my time that I’ll need to spend working to pay for my new apartment.

I’m a psychology major and have taken 1 psychology class INSIDE the classroom and 3 OUTSIDE the classroom and learn MUCH more from OUTSIDE the classroom. I’m very close to graduating I just need 1 math class.

I’ve looked at University of Phoenix, but it’s so expensive, and I’ve heard heavily mixed reviews about it. Any other colleges offer good psychology degrees, well accredited, and will take into account the other classes I took at community college and perhaps I could just graduate with their online degree?

Any ideas on good colleges with good degrees in Psychology?
OOPS! My bad. As of right now I’m going to graduate with ‘individual studies’ and then switch my major to psychology.

I am a little confused about my next step in my educational career. I have completed Master of Science in Biotechnology at Griffith University, Queensland, Australia in 2001/2002. I have molecular biology experience. I also have a diploma in Medical Transcription and have experience as a Home-based Medical Transcriptionist.

With regards to Biotechnology I am keen on Plant Biotechnology. With regards to Medical Transcription I have researched on the internet and the next step is a degree in Health Information Management. Both are good choices.

Pro for Plant Biotechnology is I just love being a research scientist and would enjoy putting in those extra years to gain a PhD in Plant Biotechnology.

Pro for Health Information Management is that it is an online course and it too is a very in demand occupation.

Please try and advise me about my future course….

I want to take online courses to become a medical transcriptionist. I have looked into Penn Foster and they look reasonably priced, but they say it takes about a year to complete. All the ones I find that say they can take as little as 3-4 months to complete, aren’t accredited. Any suggestions?

right now……… i’m just wondering if i just have too much on my plate. i am an International Baccalaureate student with a 4.63 weighted GPA (out of 5)….. I am a highschool senior and I have 5 IB (college credit classes), a pottery class and a band class (in which I have first chair clarinet, and student conductor)…. I am also taking one online course as a dual enrollment course – Trigonometry.
I’ve been able to do well all these years, but this year is exceptionally difficult. I just can’t seem to manage my time at all. I’ll come home from school, spend the whole day working on homework and still not complete everything on time. It’s not that I’m not trying, I just can’t get everything done on time. Now….. I’m facing a C in Trig (ahh!!! C???!) and C in Biology……. They were F’s before and I’m pretty sure I have a D in English also…… sigh. I just. I don’t know….. I don’t feel like I have "senioritis"…. I’ve only gotten one C in my life and it was in 8th grade……

I’m thinking about getting a bachelors in accounting with DeVry online. I’m in NYC by the way. I heard most employers don’t like online learning. But since DeVry IS AN ESTABLISHED INSTUTION I.e. An actual real life campus that offers IN PERSON and ONLINE learning – in that case, will it make a difference to employers?

Because I’m 24 and I have a job already, I don’t have time to go to a school in person like that so this would be great for me. I have a friend who’s my age and she’s doing devry online, she’s in her last year and tells me its great.

But I’m just worried about employers. So what do you guys think?

Alright so im not good at math, and im having a problem thinking ahead.

So last year was my freshman year and I passed everything except the second semester of Science and Algebra 1. So now im in Biology and Algebra 1 (B, second sem ) im assuming I have to make up the science semester my senior year but for the Algebra class im in an online course. I have all my assignments online and I have to complete Alg 1 B, Geometry A and Geometry B by the end of the year. Right now I am half way through Alg 1 B and the first semester is half way over. So basically what are the graduation requirements?

Do I have to complete Algrebra 2, or complete geometry? and Just phyiscal science and biology right?

I found out online, that at UC Santa Cruz, people take three classes per quarter.

Do you know how many classes people take per quarter at other UCs (it would be especially great if you know about the number of classes at Davis, Berkeley, or Merced…but I heard that Berekeley goes by semesters: is that true?)

Also, if you do happen to go to a UC, or went there, is/was it difficult to keep up with? If it is difficult, did you take AP classes in high school?

Hi, everyone. I’m going to be a junior next year, so it’s time to start thinking about colleges! I’m definitely interested in a smaller school, preferable liberal arts. Majors I’m interested in are Literature, Foreign Relations, Languages, Comparative Religion, and the Classics. So far, I’ve become interested in Bryn Mawr and Bard, in Pennsylvania and New York respectively. Of course, their websites look fine, but what other schools do you suggest? I’ll give you my stats below:

Current GPA: 3.95 (It should go up when my final grades from this year are put in.)

8th grade classes: Algebra 1, final grade B, Spanish I, final grade A.

9th grade classes: Advanced English 9, final grade B, Geometry, final grade B, IB World History 1 final grade B (but it was an IB class so it counted as an A), Spanish 3, final grade A, Biology, final grade A, Gym/PE 9, final grade A, Newspaper, final grade B.

10th grade classes: Advanced English 10, current grade A, Algebra 2 semester 1, final grade A, Algebra 2 semester 2, current grade either a high B or a low A, Latin I, current grade A, Chemistry, current grade A, Spanish 3, current grade A, Gym/PE/Driver’s Ed 10, current grade A, World History 2, current grade A.

Enrolled in for 11 grade: AP English 11, AP Biology, AP US History, Spanish 4, Latin 2, Leadership Seminar, and Algebra 3/Trig

Probably taking in 12 grade: AP English 12, AP Government, Physics, Math Analysis, Latin 3, AP Spanish (online course) and AP Psychology.

I live in Virginia, so if there’s any good smaller colleges that I may not have heard of in-state, that’d be great. Also, my school system uses a 8 point grading scale, so 92-100 is an A, etc, and a lot of my B’s were 90s and 91s, so I don’t know if colleges take that into account.

Here are some of my activities: SCA freshman historian, Publicity Chair, future Historian, Latin Club secretary, Spanish National Honor Society, Green Team Secretary, Model UN. Next year I plan to also participate in Spanish Club and Latin Nationl Honor Society.

So any ideas about ideal colleges? My parents are limiting how many colleges I can apply to, so I really want to apply to ones that are the right fit. Sorry this was so long!

I did what I thought I was suppose to do by doing great in high school. I got into a prestigious school. I went into Business school as it was what I enjoyed. I worked hard and graduated again toward the top of the class. I get out and now I live at home and am being turned down for interviews for jobs paying an hour. I made an hour in high school! I feel like I was not prepared like I should have been for the real world. It almost feels like college was a scam. How absurd is this job market? If they value experience over education like I am finding out then why is the education system not set up to include a few years of on the job experience rather then making us take years of ridiculous prerequisite classes that are mirror images of high school courses?

I am just ranting out of frustration and I don’t mean to say I am any better then anyone else as I’m a very modest person usually but why do they see my degree from a prestigious 4 year university worth the same as someone who got thier degree online in their freetime? It seems like if you can read and write you can get a bachelors degree these days. I also know I could go back to school and get a masters but an MBA in my opinion is worthless without experience yet no one will hire me because I have no experience. Isn’t college experience? Its not like I did nothing that whole time. Sorry to sound like a bitch, but does anyone else feel like they overestimated the value of a college degree?

Thank you HelpMeEscrowStuff, I agree with what you said for the most part. I am just disappointed and feel like I missed something as no one told me what else I needed to do to get an actual job. I find the education system to be very flawed. I don’t need to be taking basic math, or english classes again at this level. I should be 2 years of actual textbook study in the field you choose followed by a couple of years of actually working in real world scenarios. These years would be unpaid of course and in fact we would be paying to get the experience. Thats just how I see it but what do I know. Thank you for your response.

I’m a Secondary Education and History major at Albright College. I have all my history an education requirements taken care of (after this semester) except for Geography. They used to offer a course, but then the teacher retired and no other teachers picked it up.

It is the last class that I need to fulfill my graduation requirements and I don’t want to leave it up to "chance" that Albright will find someone to teach it. The registrar told me that I can take the course online as long as it is from an accredited school and it is considered equivalent to a regular college course.

What college/site do you recommend? Do you know of any that have a Geography course? I can’t find anything myself and my mom can’t seem to tell the different between Geography and Geology (science), so I want to see what Yahoo Answerers have to offer…

I have searched and searched and searched and not a single college I have found offers an online degree in any sort of science major. I am currently going to college for Environmental Science, but am willing to change my major to Botany or something in the earth sciences to be able to take some classes online. I am getting ready to have a baby and will be a single mom, I cannot work full time, go to school full time and raise a baby unless I can find an alternative to in the classroom studies, at least for the next couple of years.
Science classes. I have to stress that I am looking for online SCIENCE classes. Not criminal justice, not business, not nursing. Science. Something to do with earth science, in particular.

I was laid off in mid November (the best time of year to have to look for a job) and I’m having a difficult time deciding which route I should take. I’m a young professional with about 4+ years of internet marketing industry experience, in a city where there aren’t a ton of jobs even really related to that.

I’m working on my MBA in the evenings, a decision because of stagnation concerns with the company, so between the money I have from that, the severance I got, and savings, I’m financially secure almost through to the summer, but I’m not comfortable with that.

Every position I see posted online seems to want 5-7 years of experience, in ANY field, which I don’t have. I’ve applied to numerous, and got one interview, which didn’t result in an offer.

I want to work full time again. But in light of my layoff, I upped the amount of classes I’m taking from 2 to 3 nights a week, just because ..

At four courses completed (3 more pending) with a 3.5 GPA, I consider myself too far into my program to just stop and relocate. I want to finish my MBA, maybe I’m wrong.

What should I do as far as my job search is concerned?

Am I too far along in my career to change career fields? I don’t particularly care to, but if the demand for jobs in my area is different, I’m not sure.

Then there’s the whole matter of having to start from the bottom again if I do that. I made a decent salary this year; are employers in other disciplines likely to acknowledge that and pay me a similar salary if I go that route?
